Hi guys, as you know I am a flight attendant. Although, I don’t work very much I do try to travel for pleasure as much as our schedule allows. With the kids school & soccer that isn’t always easy. I thought I would share some of my go to items to wear (or carry on) while traveling. I find that even in the Summer once the plane is at cruising altitude it is usually pretty cold. When I am working I prefer it colder because we are staying busy, but as a passenger sometimes it’s miserable.

Here are some pieces that are almost identical to what I wore when my husband & I flew up to New York two weeks ago. Leggings, comfy tee, booties & a poncho.

Leggings – I actually wore mine from Fabletics. I have gained some weight lately & these have a high waist and tend to hide some problem areas.

Another brand I love to wear are BP & Spanx. A couple are pictured below.

A stretchy knit and seamless design team up for a flattering fit in essential leggings topped with a figure-smoothing waistband. Style Name:Spanx Look At Me Now’ Seamless Leggings.

A much more wallet friendly option are the BP High Rise Leggings. The extra-high waistband ensures a supersmooth fit in these must-have, stretch-cotton leggings

Basic tee – I love these Luxe tees from Old Navy, they are loose fitted and the material is very soft. I sized up so it would be a bit longer with leggings. I have them in sleeveless, short sleeved and I ordered a couple long sleeved. Another brand I love is Madewell.

Old Navy - available in many other colors.

Poncho – I received mine (BB Dakota) in my Winter FabFitFun box. #FabFitFunPartner (read about this amazing subscription box here.) I also found some similar ponchos below. You can wear it or use as a blanket on the plane. I have even had mine folded up and used as a pillow when I had a window seat. Here are a few other options since I don’t think the BB Dakota is available for sale.

Love Stitch Kensington Reversible Poncho is for the ultra trendy fashionista who likes statement pieces! The reserve side features black and white herringbone! Wear this off the shoulder in a shawl style or on the shoulders as a poncho. Many options. I personally LOVE this. I do tend to wear a lot of black & grey though.

Chicnico Grey Tassel Asymmetrical Hem Shawl Speckled Fringe Cardigan. Available in green, yellow, pink, red, camel, grey & black.

I tend to wear booties on the plane. Something that are easy to take off and on through security. Slip on shoes are also a smart choice. I have been the person that has worn my bulky Winter boots on the plane, but this was only to save space in my luggage. I always carry my jacket separate for the same reason. I usually slide mine on top of my roller bag in the overhead bin. These are my favorites. Available in so many colors.

Here is another option for traveling –

Jeans – I either go for a pair of well worn boyfriend jeans or jeggings. These Rockstar pull on jeans/jeggings from Old Navy are amazing and inexpensive. I have bought 3 different pairs and I wear mine all the time. I rarely tuck in a shirt so they’re great for me.

Slip on shoes – don’t forget the no-show socks since these will be coming off when you go through security. Unless, you’re lucky enough to have pre-check.

Cardigan – Lots of great options available on Amazon. This one below is available with Prime 2day shipping. May other colors and styles available here.

This one and a few other great options are available at ChicNico. The cardigan below is also available in kelly green, pink, yellow and red.

Here are few other things that are great for your carryon bag/purse.

Sleep mask

Travel clorox wipes – all I feel I need to say is tray tables.

Travel lotion – My go to is Nivea. My grandmother loved this so the smell reminds me of her, but it really is a great lotion and my skin tends to dry out after a day of flying.

Water bottle – most airports now have water filling stations once you get through security. This was you aren’t paying $4 for a bottle of water at the gift shop. This is my favorite because I can hook it onto my luggage so one less thing to carry.

My husband loves these Bose noise cancelling headphones. I think he may wear them just to block me out! On our last trip up to NY we had a group of women in front of us going on a girls trip, they were very loud and he could barely hear them with these on.
